Mattress maker knows his material

After
spending 12 years working for a major mattress manufacturer in North York,
Rauff Kiduru decided it was time to move on.
The Meadowvale resident started buying his own material and making his
own beds after hours.
"I got really good feedback from family and friends," he said.
"That's when I realized this is something I can do."
So, last June 18, Kiduru went out on his own, opening Quality Rest Mattress,
located at 1170 Burnhamthorpe Rd. W.
His store, which employs two other people in addition to Kiduru, customizes
mattresses for any request.
"If a customer wants a size smaller than a queen, but larger than
a double, I can customize the size to their liking," said Kiduru.
"Most customers come in with back problems," he continued. "They
come in, lie down on my mattresses, explain exactly what they want, and
within days they get the mattress of their dreams."
One customer bought a bed two weeks ago without stepping foot into the
store.
"I've had back problems for a while now and my old mattress wasn't
working and I needed a change," said Hazra Khan. "I called and
I told him (Kiduru) that I didn't want it too soft or too hard, and he
understood right away."
Kiduru's company provides customers with a choice of eight different mattresses.
He said his products are 100 percent Canadian made.
"We care about quality, which should be the most important aspect."
